There’s an awful lot of nonsense written about the location of “true” North. In point of fact, on many Chinese compasses there is a whole ring devoted to it, the only problem being that the location identified is generally around 1200 years out of date. For myself, like the airport in the article, I’m mostly concerned with local magnetic fields which tell me what is actually happening on the spot.
